December 17, 2000
Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who attended the first meeting of CIPOA Catalina Island Property Owners Association on December 12,2000. We appreciate the support weve received regarding the formation of the association. All of you are confirmation that many people care about Avalon, full-time residents or not.
We have a list of those who attended the meeting and those who could not attend but are interested in joining CIPOA, along with addresses, phone numbers, email addresses. We will not put this information on the website, but it will be available via email once we have each persons permission to release the information. If you agree to allow us to release your address, etc. to other members of CIPOA only, please let us know. Otherwise we will not give out information about you.
Attendees overwhelmingly expressed concern over the City Councils and Planning Commissions recent actions infringing on owners rights to rent their properties. However, there were other issues discussed. For those of you who couldnt attend, here is an abbreviated version of concerns and remarks brought up at the December meeting:
The Avalon City Council and Planning Commission are having a joint meeting on January 23, 2001 to discuss issues of vital importance to Avalon property owners.
What a good time to hold the second meeting of CIPOA 5 PM
place to be announced (any volunteers?)
Our agenda will be posted on WWW.CIPOA.COM early in January, and will mirror those issues that the City Council is planning to discuss at the joint meeting being held the same day. In addition, we should discuss a possible slate of officers for our association as well as the idea of membership dues. Stay tuned!
